MERCEDES C CLASS STEREO REMOVAL GUIDE

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS:
THE FACTORY FITTED HEAD UNIT/STEREO IS BOLTED IN, FIRST YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE AIR VENTS LOCATED ABOVE THE STEREO, LOCATED ON THE LEFT EDGE ON THE LEFT HAND VENT & ON THE RIGHT EDGE ON THE RIGHT HAND VENT ARE TWO PLASTIC TABS, THESE TABS NEED TO BE PUSHED INWARDS USING A SMALL FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER & AT THE SAME TIME PUSH THE VENT COVER UPWARDS, THIS WILL CREATE A SMALL GAP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE VENT, NOW USING A TORCH YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE TWO T20 TORX SCREWS LOCATED AT BOTH BOTTOM CORNERS OF THE VENT, ONCE REMOVED REPEAT THE PROCESS AGAIN & CREATE A SMALL GAP AT THE TOP OF THE VENTS TO REVEAL ANOTHER TWO T20 TORX SCREWS THAT NEED REMOVING, ONCE REMOVED, NEXT REMOVE THE GEAR GAITER SURROUND & THE TRIM PANEL SURROUNDING THE GEAR LEVER (ITS HELD IN PLACE WITH METAL CLIPS), NOW YOU CAN REMOVE THE ASHTRAY ASSEMBLY, THERE ARE TWO CLIPS ON THE FRONT THAT NEED TO BE PRESSED TO RELEASE, ONCE REMOVED YOU CAN NOW ACCESS EITHER TWO T20 TORX SCREWS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT OR TWO SPRING CLIPS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT THAT NEED TO BE RELEASED, ONCE REMOVED THE CENTER DASH PANEL CAN NOW BE REMOVED FROM THE DASH REVEALING TWO T20 TORX SCREWS HOLDING THE STEREO IN PLACE.
EXTRA INFORMATION:
THE VEHICLES WIRING IS STANDARD ISO, BUT THERE IS NO 12V IGNITION LIVE PRESENT AT THE ISO WIRING BLOCK, ONE CAN BE SOURCED FROM THE VEHICLES INTERNAL FUSE BOX OR THE CIGAR LIGHTER ACCESSORY PORT (A MUTIMETER WILL BE REQUIRED TO CHECK FOR VOLTAGE)
